The first official marine sanctuary in the Philippines, you can generally expect snorkelling in gin clear waters with 30metres plus visibility. The Marine Sanctuary side of the island is protected from harsh conditions from the island itself and offers Gorgeous coral – both hard and soft with a healthy abundance of marine life, with the odd surprise be it a pre-historic sized turtle or a reef shark, maybe even a passing whale shark!
After snorkeling Sumilon Island Marine Sancutary you may visit the Sumilon Sand Bar. This naturally occurring white sand beach is visible at low-tide but even at other times of the day is a fun area to splash around in the clear shallow waters.
Our Sumilon Island snorkel trips starts with a van transfer from Granada Beach Resort to Oslob (approx. 20 minutes) where we board our boat. Due to the proximity to the Whale Shark protected area this is a great trip to combine and do after your Whale Shark snorkel or dive trip! After all the island is only 30-45 minutes boat ride away!
*Please note: Entry onto Sumilon Island is not included. If you wish to enter the island and the private resort you will need to bring an additional P2500 per person in cash for the island entry payment.
If you combine a Whale Shark Snorkel or Dive to your Sumilan Trip you save P500 per person!
